ARIA receives recognition at 2007 ASFA Communications Awards

ARIA has received two awards for excellence in communications and best use of electronic media at the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA) Communications Awards on 30 August 2007.

ARIA was recognised in the Member Reporting Communication category, taking out the Excellence award for the PSSap interactive web-based member statement. The statement was also awarded the prestigious Lightening Rod award – for best use of electronic media.

Since its inception in 2005, the PSSap has embraced the responsibility of helping members develop the knowledge and skills they need to manage their super confidently and effectively.

By using electronic media, auto-generated, personalised half-yearly member statements were developed and delivered in pdf format and made available in each member’s online account.

The statement not only provided members with facts (such as their account balance) but also provided useful tips that were tailored to their lifestage.

The statement theme ‘Reach – every bit helps’ was developed to encourage members to take an interest in their super, and make it clear that by taking small steps they can reach their superannuation savings goals.

PSSap members were impressed with the statements, with almost 23 per cent accessing the statement with 69 per cent of those reporting that they would like to receive an online statement in the future.

The ASFA Communications Awards are used to raise the overall standard of communication in the super industry and recognise those who have excelled.
